Reader’s Write: Navarra’s record right stuff for Mineola schools

The Island Now

I have been a resident of the Mineola School District for 24 years. I was very happy to be involved as a volunteer in many ways over the course of my children’s education in our schools. During this time I came to know and work with some wonderful people, who selflessly gave their time and efforts to make things better for all of the children in our district.

One such person is Patricia Navarra, with whom I served on the executive board of two parent organizations, first on the Middle School PTA and then on Music Parents in the High School.

I have so much respect and admiration for Pat. What has impressed me most about her, is her passion for and commitment to ensuring that every student be successful in all aspects of their education, whether it be curriculum related or extra-curricular.

Pat has so much experience in the arts, which she showed in her devotion to the arts program in the district. Whether it was the marching band, the music programs, the thespian shows or the musicals, Pat was involved in all aspects, helping, supporting, cheering and praising the kids and staff. She is so knowledgeable and shared that knowledge with the students and staff, as well.

I am thrilled that Pat is running for the board of education, as now she will be able to add her ideas, her knowledge, her passion, her enthusiasm and her integrity, to our already strong and committed board, whom we depend on to do what is best for our district. Their motives are always clear. They want what is best for our kids and our community.

I am proud to support Patricia Navarra for the board of education.
