Readers Write: Not calling Hamas terrorists is racist

The Island Now

Last week, Al Jazeera, the Qatar-based – now international – propaganda “news” outlet most prominently known for its drumbeat of hate-America/hate Israel/loathe the Jews vitriol, predictably engaged in an orgy of blaming the Jews for the outbreak of violence in the Gaza Strip.

This week, in the Great Neck News, writer Anthony O’Reilly described the recent two-week trip that Great Neck resident and architect Edna Guilor made to Israel to visit her sister. The visit was planned, O’Reilly said – echoing the Al Jazeera party line – long before “Israel began a violent military confrontation with Hamas, a Palestinian Sunni Islamist organization that has governed the Gaza Strip since 2007.”

Continuing his Al Jazeera-like, moral-equivalence reporting, O’Reilly wrote: “Hostilities began between the two sides on July 8, following the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers by men in the West Bank who Israel alleges belong to Hamas….”

“Men” in the West Bank? Hello, Mr. O’Reilly. “Men” who kidnap and murder innocent teenagers are called terrorists.

Hamas proudly took credit for this abomination, so what could you possibly mean that they are people “who Israel alleges belong to Hamas”?

If three black teens were kidnapped and murdered by racists who had been promising to annihilate them and lobbing deadly rockets at their families for years, would you call their murderers “men with white hoods who African-Americans allege belong to the Ku Klux Klan”?

Sounds like you’re on the payroll of Al Jazeera!

Shame on you for your transparent bias and shame on the publisher and editor of this newspaper for consciously choosing to overlook and not condemn your rank racism!
