Readers Write: Plaza officials given pass on double-parking problem

The Island Now

The letter by David Goldberg gives a pass to the mayor and trustees in regard to the double parked cars all over Great Neck Plaza. He states this a long-standing tradition.

The issue can easily be resolved  by  making sure that police and traffic enforcement agents promptly ticket double parked cars. The only  exception  acceptable would be for handicapped persons to enter or exit the vehicle.

Not only is double parking a selfish act, it also impedes the proper flow of  traffic and prompt responses by emergency vehicles..

In addition to the summons I( am proposing that all pizzas, etc. picked up by a double parker should be confiscated on the spot.

Of course this will never happen.
