Nassau police are investigating a possible connection between robberies that took place late Monday night in Great Neck and Manhasset.

A police spokeswoman said Wednesday that detectives are looking into whether the three subjects who robbed a 22-year-old in Great Neck were the same three who robbed three teenage boys in similar fashion a short while later in Manhasset.

In both instances, police said the three subjects were described as African American men, one with a beard, another wearing a black baseball hat and a third with shoulder-length dreadlocks and carrying a black handgun.

At about 10:35 p.m. Monday, police said the 22-year-old victim was walking eastbound on Clair Street near Tobin Avenue in Great Neck when he was approached by three subjects at gunpoint, who took a bag containing clothing and a wallet that he was carrying. The subjects also took the victim’s cell phone.

The subjects told the victim to continue walking before fleeing westbound on Clair Street.

Just around midnight, three teenage boys, ages 18, 18 and 17, were walking on Webster Avenue to a Friends house when they were approached by three similar subjects, who demanded their cell phones, police said.

After the victims complied, the subjects fled southbound on Plandome Road, an intersecting street.

Third Squad detectives request that anyone with information regarding the robberies call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, and that calls will remain anonymous.
