A Brooklyn woman and her mother were arrested in Manhasset on Friday after an alleged attempt to steal a leather jacket from a Lord & Taylor department store turned violent.

Police said that when Allesandra Davis, 23, was stopped by loss prevention officers after leaving the store without paying for the jacket, she resisted and a violent struggle ensued.

During the confrontation, police said, Davis’ mother Deborah ran out of the store and tried to help her daughter break free and get away. But shortly thereafter, Third Squad officers responded and apprehended Allesandra on Plandome Road and Deborah along Northern Boulevard and placed both under arrest.

The women, of 1289 East 91st Street, were charged with robbery in the third degree and were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.
