James Hodgkinson was at the Eugene Simpson Stadium in Alexandria, Va.
His purpose was to kill Republicans.
House Whip Steve Scalise, who is in serious condition, was shot with four others before Hodgkinson was killed by police.
Here was a deranged man who had a vendetta against Republicans.
In my opinion, I can’t help but feel a hateful atmosphere is being created that is displaying an anti-Republican rhetoric.
This egregious and nefarious act — and hopefully none in the future — must stop and our country needs to stand in solidarity against this senseless shooting.
As was just said, “An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.”
Therefore let us pray for all those shot and their families and friends and fellow members of Congress in this most difficult time.
