Earlier this week I mailed off a letter with enclosed photos showing the deplorable conditions at the Strathmore Eco Park in Great Neck, its accumulation of debris and state of general neglect.
This morning I walked through the area and discovered that virtually all of the debris has been cleaned up, the grass mowed, but tractor imprints five inches deep have been left in the mud.
The paint-spattered benches and boards have not yet been cleaned, but the general improvement (not counting the deep gouges left by tractor tread) is notable.
Kudos to the mayor and the village for a fine start on cleaning up the area!
