I would like to applaud all the women who went on strike and marched in protest on Wednesday, March 8 for equal rights.
The strike around the world was called, “International Women’s Day.”
The purpose of this action was to highlight the economic power and significance that women have in the U.S. and global economies.
It was reported that thousands in New York and around the world in 40 countries were protesting for equal rights, liberty, equal pay and above all respect for their gender.
There were numerous arrests but that has been true for many civil rights protests.
It is a time for women to be treated as equals for what they do in making our nation great.
Let me also say, Power to women who make a difference in all of our lives.
