Readers Write: Seeman has earned re-election to town council

The Island Now

As a retired New York City schoolteacher and an active participant in the local community for many years, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with dozens of elected officials. None of them possess more dedication and commitment to the residents they lead than North Hempstead Town Councilwoman Lee Seeman.

For that reason, I am proud to support her as she runs for her third term representing the 5th Council District in the Town of North Hempstead.

I have known Lee Seeman for several years and have worked with her on a number of different levels. She often visits the Village of Saddle Rock where I reside to meet with the village mayor in order to stay on top of the most relevant issues to her constituents.

Lee’s style of addressing residents’ concerns head on and bringing all the appropriate parties to the table to resolve the issues is exactly what is needed from our elected officials. I have witnessed this first hand as Lee has been at the forefront of my community for the 20 years that I have lived here, even before her time on the town council.

She has spent nearly 40 years as program director for the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce, and has worked hard to beautify our downtowns, identify new business and investment opportunities, and improve the quality of life in Great Neck.

We have been so fortunate to have Lee Seeman representing us on the town council for the past eight years. She has the knowledge, experience, and unmatched devotion to her job that makes her one of the preeminent leaders in our community. I encourage you to vote for her this Nov. 5 so residents’ voices continue to be heard in the 5th Council District in the Town of North Hempstead.
