Reader’s Write: U.S. needs to address unemployment

The Island Now

I once made the comment regarding our Constitution that our creator has endowed us with certain inalienable rights such as liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I added “as intended.”

What i meant is that we may exercise these rights as long as it is not at the expense of another or others. This also applies to free enterprise.

I have also said that people must be governed until they can properly govern themselves.

At this stage, free enterprise is seen as the right to run rampant without any concern  for others. These days, a law is needed for every action the same as vehicle and traffic law has. I will also demonstrate that our government is not protecting us against domestic enemies.

The Times article of April 12, 2013 titled “Postal workers deserve our thanks” would be better to say “Our postal workers…”

Government by and for the people: it is our government, we own it along with its institutions such as the U.S. Postal Service.

The article featured special education, a UPS driver and employee. The problem facing We The People is that special education has an edge. First, some special education for clarification. We entrust our elected officials to serve our purposes. Unfortunately our trust was sold and betrayed. Regulations on our cherished postal service prohibit it being competitive with UPS and the like.

Though rain, snow and the like along with tons of junk mail (tossed out as junk) can’t keep our postal workers from their rounds, traitors can! Our postal service can be saved by simply restoring the rights of that which is properly ours.

Albany continues to push the unsound formula of cutting taxes for businesses to create jobs. Unless one is running on half a brain, it is obvious first that entrepreneurs see the possibility of selling something or of creating a job ahead of the fact and second, we all accept the reality of proper taxes so that the services we depend on can be provided.

The dumb slogans of the presidential race prevail. “I am going to create jobs” and never once providing as much as one example of how or what job. Stupids do as stupids be! We should get the facts instead of being entertained by kiddie stories. If we want entertainment, we can go to Westbury.

So many countries have high unemployment. Technology has made it like the handful of people who can make 50,000 fortune cookies every day complete with the little slip of paper. Wonderful!!! Cut the work week to four days or whatever so that everyone has a job and a fair share.
