Readers Write: Vets owe town a thank you

The Island Now

As members of the North Hempstead Veterans Advisory Committee, it was our personal special honor to participate in the Town of North Hempstead delivering more than 100 boxes of personal care items, clothing and more to the Northport Veterans Hospital in December, as reported in your January newspapers.

This holiday gift drive was coordinated through Supervisor Bosworth’s office and her dedicated staff.

It was wonderful to know that neighborhood groups and schools participated as well.

The Town of North Hempstead has stepped up and filled a void veterans felt existed.

We are able to easily contact a dedicated social worker, call 311, or make inquiries to our elected officials for any concerns we might have.

Thank you Supervisor Bosworth and the town for providing the assistance so sorely needed and providing the vehicle through which we veterans can communicate and share resources.
