In deciding who to cast my vote for in the upcoming Village of Mineola election, I can’t help but think about what I want the village to look like in the years to come.
Do I want it to look like a city, dense and congested or would I rather it appear as a suburb, with modern conveniences, but still reminiscent of the suburbs were more quiet and spacious?
I also can’t help but think back to the Mineola 15 years ago.
Back then the village was less congested. Our streets and sidewalks were cleaner. Our taxes were lower. Our services were better.
John Colbert was the mayor of Mineola back then.
Now he is running for the Village Board of Trustees, to represent us as a trustee.
I am supporting him and hope my fellow residents will do the same.
While our political future may seem uncertain on the national level, I am certain that Mr. Colbert will deliver for the Village of Mineola, by looking out for the best interest of the residents in safeguarding what is left of our suburb.
Why? Because he did so for years when our village was more affordable and more like the village we chose to make home.
Please vote for John Colbert on March 15 for trustee.
