Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso met with Janet Susin, past president of NAMI Queens/Nassau, and praised the work of the organization.
NAMI, National Alliance for Mental Illness, works to eliminate the stigma that comes with having a mental illness. Susin has spent many years working to educate families, individuals, law enforcement officers and teachers to inform them about mental illness conditions and providing the needed support.
“NAMI has been providing services and resources for those affected by mental illness who otherwise would not know where to turn for assistance,” D’Urso said.
