Jen Glantz, the very entertaining author of “Always a Bridesmaid (For Hire),” will discuss her hilarious memoir at 7:45 p.m. April 10 at Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn Heights.

“Always a Bridesmaid (for Hire): Stories on Growing Up, Looking for Love and Walking Down the Aisle for Complete Strangers”

The event, which is open to the community, is in partnership with TBS Sisterhood, the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Book Council. Books are available in the temple office for purchase and you may bring them to the author talk for signing.

The book, subtitled “Stories on Growing Up, Looking for Love, and Walking Down the Aisle for Complete Strangers,” describes Glantz’s journey to find herself, her dream career, and true love, all while juggling a unique job as the woirld’s only professional bridesmaid.

“Being a bridesmaid is a hard job,” she quips, “and a girl should get paid for it!” What started as a half-serious ad on Craig’s List for her services as a professional bridesmaid soon resulted in a media frenzy and Jen being hired as a bridesmaid at 65 weddings all over the world.

Pre-register by April 6 and pay $5. General Admission at the door is $10.
