Combatting the news of opioid addictions

Broadcaster Drew Scott (third from right) capped off the Church of Our Saviour’s Lenten “Sacrifice and Serve” series by discussing the nation’s opioid crisis. He shared the story of the loss of his beloved granddaughter Hallie Ulrich. Drew, retired as a News 12 anchor, now volunteers his time starting local community opioid task forces, including the towns of East Hampton, Islip and Huntington. He suggests the Town of North Hempstead form a similar task force. Yvonne Haff, Paul Petras, Dr. Deborah Capilupi, Sharon Rivilli and Rev. Marc Herbst thanked him for his inspiring presentation.
