A book club to empower women and girls

Book Club on Michelle Obama's BECOMING

One World Girl’s intergenerational book club will host a discussion of Michelle Obama’s bestselling book, “Becoming,” on Sunday, March 10, 17 and 24, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at the Manhasset Public Library. The book club is open to women and girls 12 and older.

“Becoming” is the former First Lady’s memoir published in 2018. Described by Obama as a deeply personal experience, the book reveals details about her roots and how she found her voice, as well as her time in the White House, her public health campaign, and her role as a mother.

Over the three meetings, the group will read excerpts from the book and use Obama’s story to empower women and girls to be leaders in the community and the world.

The Manhasset Public Library is located at 30 Onderdonk Ave. For more information, contact Lesley Mazzotta at lesleym@oneworldgirl.org. To register for the events, go to: https://owgbecoming.eventbrite.com.
