Adelphi University is among the colleges in Nassau County that will restart in-person classes later this month.

Adelphi University has been awarded the 2020 Institutional Excellence Award by the National Association of Diversity in Higher Education.

The Institutional Excellence Award is presented to institutions that have demonstrated measurable progress in promoting and sustaining innovative diversity efforts within their campus community.

Each year, NADOHE recognizes the results of institutional leadership transformation. These efforts can involve institutional leadership, curricular reform, institutional transformation, professional development, assessment policies and practices, accountability measures, and outreach efforts.

“It is such an honor for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to be recognized for the progress that we have made here at Adelphi,” said Jacqueline Jones LaMon, vice president of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Adelphi. “I am pleased to be a part of this transformational unit, helping to open doors to greater support, outreach and accountability for all members of our community. While we are faced with monumental global challenges, we stand by our conviction to be a model of diversity, equity and inclusion—especially during these trying times.”
