Chris Brubeck’s Triple Play

The three outstanding musicians of Chris Brubeck’s Triple Play will bring a joyous concert to the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center on Friday, Oct. 25.

With deep musical roots, the talented trio includes Peter Madcat Ruth (on harmonica, guitar, jaw harp, percussion and vocals), Joel Brown (acoustic guitar and vocals) and Chris Brubeck (electric fretless bass, bass trombone, piano and vocals.) The audience will be treated to an eclectic program that blends blues, jazz, acoustic funk and classical music throughout this entertaining concert.

“Triple Play, rollicking good fun … the trio stole the show with its flair and virtuosity.” – L.A. Times

The trio’s musical history includes Chris and Madcat touring and recording together since 1969, first as young rock musicians in the group “New Heavenly Blue” (with albums on RCA and Atlantic Records), “Sky King” (on Columbia), and then as jazz musicians touring the world with Dave Brubeck.

Chris Brubeck’s Triple Play will perform at 8 p.m. on the Westermann Stage in Adelphi’s PAC Concert Hall.
