Afternoon arias at Temple Emanuel in G.N.

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., Rebecca Rutkovsky and Christina Russo accompanied by Dora Galit at the piano will perform opera favorites and musical theatre classics at Temple Emanuel of Great Neck.

This concert, part of the synagogue’s SCW Tuesdays at Emanuel series, features Rutkovky and Russo in a performance of the great arias, songs, and duets from your favorite operas and musicals by Handel, Bernstein, and everyone in between!

Soprano Rutkovsky is a recent graduate of Binghamton University where she received her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance.

In the 2016-17 season, she was seen as Suor Angelica (“Suor Angelica”), Giulietta (“Les Contes d’Hoffmann”), Fiordiligi (“Così fan tutte”), and First Lady (“Die Zauberflöte”) with the Binghamton University Opera Ensemble, Edith (Pirates of Penzance), Cinderella (“Into the Woods”), and Rosalia (“West Side Story”), among others. She has performed as a soloist at Merkin Hall.

Christina Russo, mezzo-soprano, recently completed her Masters in Music at Binghamton University with a concentration in Opera Performance.

She has been seen as Dorabella in “Così fan tutte” and Second Lady in “Die Zauberflöte,” both at Binghamton University.

In November 2016, she made her company and role debut as the Sandman in the Tri-Cities Opera production of “Hansel and Gretel.”

Dora Galit, concert pianist and accompanist, recently received her Masters in Music with renowned Russian teacher Nina Lelchuk at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.

She has performed in concert halls all over New York including Carnegie Hall and LeFrak Hall.
