Temple Isaiah will present a special screening of “Extra Innings,” a film based on the true story of its Syrian Jewish writer and director, on Thursday, June 27 at 7 p.m.

The film tells the story of David Sabah, a young man who is caught between pursuing his dream of playing baseball and staying devoted to his Syrian Jewish family which is afflicted with mental illness. Writer and director Albert Sabah will be present at the screening and will conduct a Q&A with the audience following the film.

Sabah has been in the video production business for 35 years; his company produces documentaries, training videos, music videos and commercials. He is also an actor, and has worked with notable directors and fellow actors including Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Meryl Streep and others.

Temple Isaiah is located at One Chelsea Place off Cutter Mill Road in Great Neck. There is a $10 charge for non-members; the screening is being made available by a sponsor who will match all contributions dollar for dollar, up to $1,800.
