Buckley students head back to school

The Island Now

There was excitement in the air on Wednesday, Sept. 4, when Buckley Country Day School in Roslyn welcomed 340 students for 2019–20—the school’s 97th year.

The 70+ members of Buckley’s faculty and staff were on hand to greet the returning students and welcome the 50 new students. Buckley’s student-body is made up of children from 46 Long Island school districts, as well as towns throughout Queens.

“A new school year is synonymous with opportunities and accomplishments,” said Headmaster Jean-Marc Juhel. “One thing is for certain: there will be opportunities at every corner for our students to grow in skills, character, and agency. I look forward to a wonderful year.”

Buckley Country Day School is now accepting applications for the 2020-21 school year. The Admissions office will be hosting its first Open House on Sunday, Oct. 6th at 2:00 p.m. and RSVPs are encouraged.
