All are invited to enjoy Tango/Folklore music from Argentina and original works performed by Carlos Pavan, arranged by the Music Advisory Committee, on Sunday, March 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Great Neck Main Library at 159 Bayview Ave.
Described as performing “Striking music with great originality” from the world-renowned Classical Guitar magazine, Carlos Pavan (born In Argentina and living in New York since 2000) is a new wave of modern classical guitar composers.
Versatile and original, Pavan blends Tango/Folklore rhythms from his native country with New York jazz harmonies and classical technique/forms. He is a former student of legendary Jorge Morel, Dave Smey (Brooklyn Conservatory) and Pablo Ziegler (A. Piazzolla’s pianist).
Pavan has performed internationally in France, Canada, Argentina, Portugal, Ireland, Japan and recorded two albums with his compositions.
“Mr. Pavan worships at the altar of originality while remaining true to his Argentinean roots.” – World Music Report.
The Great Neck Library Music Advisory Committee, now in its 47th year, is co-chaired by founding member Gabe Chieco and Michele Ganz, and includes members Mary Dehn and Estelle Pace.
This all-volunteer committee of Great Neck residents represents a wide range of musical experience and performance.
