Blessing of the Fleet 2019

Join us at Steppingstone Marina for the 23rd Annual Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday, June 2 at 12 p.m. We will be accepting greetings and benedictions from dignitaries and community representatives, in blessing the fleet for the upcoming boating season. It will take place rain or shine. This event is sponsored by the Steppingstone Blessing of the Fleet Committee, Steppingstone Yacht Club and the Steppingstone Sailing Club. A program of events will be available at the marina. All are welcome.

Enjoy an Afternoon Concert and Take a Tour of the Rose Garden

On Sunday, June 2 at 3 p.m., the GN Park District presents a concert in the picturesque Rose Garden featuring Dr. Pamela Levy, GN North High School Department Chair of Fine & Performing Arts with members of the schools choir. Spend an afternoon listening to music and enjoying the natural beauty of the historic garden, which sits on the west side of the Village Green.

Then tour this historic garden on Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Originally designed by renowned landscape architect, Beatrix Farrand, our rosarian, Jason Capote, will explain the history of the garden and teach us how to identify, care for and maintain rose bushes. This program, which includes a slide show, begins at Great Neck House and continues out in the Rose Garden for a hands-on tour. No children under 16, please.

Nature Program: Botany Walk Sunday

On Sunday, June 9 at 10 a.m., botanist Andy Greller will teach you exciting things about the flora of Kings Point Park. Meet at the Steamboat Road entrance in the first lot. Register online at gnparks.org or call 516-482-0355. Children under 16 may not attend.

Camp Parkwood 2019 Registration

Camp Parkwood is designed for each child to attain their personal best while having a seriously fun time. Age appropriate activities (ages 3 and up), optional door-to-door bus service (ages 4+), complimentary towel service and Tweens Travel Program (grades 6 through 8) plus new this summer, Leaders In Training for ages 14 and 15 and Camp Parkwood Sports Camp option for grades 3-5. Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink

Make sure to take advantage of our final weeks of the season at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink (closes 6/16). We are now offering additional public sessions, freestyles and puck shoots. Through June 9 we are offering freestyle: Mondays: 7:15-8:45 p.m. (30-minute extension); Thursdays: 6 -8 p.m. (new session); Puck Shoot: Fridays: 5:45-7:45 p.m.; Public Sessions: Sundays: 2:45-4:15 p.m.
