On Nov. 19, FCA, one of Long Island’s largest not-for-profit organizations, will present its 2020 Fall Harvest Celebration at Engineers Country Club in Roslyn Harbor, New York. The organization’s largest fundraiser of the year benefits FCA’s programs and services which provide for Long Island’s most vulnerable children, families, seniors, and communities in need.

During the event, the agency will recognize Michael Dowling, Northwell Health president and CEO, for his professional achievements, charitable initiatives and for his continued support of FCA’s life-changing initiatives within the Addiction Prevention, Treatment and Recovery, Children’s Mental Health & Wellness, Prevention & Family Support, and Senior and Adult Services divisions.

“Michael Dowling has long been one of Long Island’s heroes. His leadership has been on full display during our region’s COVID-19 crisis as he managed his incredible team of frontline professionals, provided clear and science-based public health advice to lawmakers, and gave voice to the disproportionate impact the pandemic had had on Long Island’s most vulnerable populations,” stated Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds, FCA President and CEO. “Northwell is one of Long Island’s most valuable assets and one of FCA’s most important partners. I can’t think of a more fitting honoree for this year’s Fall Harvest Celebration.”

In light of the recent COVID-19 global health crisis, FCA felt it especially important to honor Michael Dowling as one of health care’s most influential voices and for the outstanding work that his organization has done amidst the pandemic.

As president and CEO of Northwell Health, he leads the largest health care provider and private employer in New York State, which cares for more than two million people annually through a network of outpatient facilities, primary care practices, urgent care centers, home care, rehabilitation and end-of-life programs, and hospitals.

Dowling’s extraordinary list of accomplishments includes being ranked as one of Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare” for 12 consecutive years. He was also chosen as the nation’s top-ranking health care/hospital CEO on Glassdoor’s “Top CEOs in 2019” list and No. 44 among large-company CEOs in the U.S.

“As a mission-driven organization, Northwell Health shares the Family & Children’s Association commitment to Long Island’s most-vulnerable populations. I am truly grateful for this honor and the spirit in which it is given. Long Island is my home and my community, and both FCA and Northwell recognize that nothing is more important than the health of our neighbors,” Dowling said.

Last year’s event raised over $275,000 and was attended by more than 200 guests. To learn more about FCA’s 2020 Fall Harvest Celebration, please visit https://fcali.org/events/fall-harvest.
