Parkwood Family Aquatic Center: Season ends Sept. 14. Pool season is extended through Sept. 14. Lazy river walking only Monday to Friday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. Main pool is open weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Doggie paddle is Sunday, Sept. 15 from 12 to 3 p.m. Dogs must have a Pooch Pass or get one at Great Neck House during regular registration hours.

Nature program: Nature at the museum Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m., head to the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn for a leisurely saunter on the nature trails. Meet in first lot on left. Parking fee $2. Register by Sept. 8. Register online at gnparks.org or call 516-487-4673. Children under 16 may not attend.

Open House at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink: The Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink re-opens Sunday, Sept. 8. Join the free open house including Bruins development hockey clinic from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., public session/skate school from 1 to 3 p.m., synchro clinic from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Register for skate school programs and receive a discount if you sign up for more than one semester. Register for all of the programs online at www.GNParks.org and make sure you don’t get closed out of a class you want.

Defensive driving classes at Great Neck House: Great Neck House continues to offer Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving classes on the first Saturday of every month. The classes run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Upcoming classes are Sept. 7, Oct. 5 and Nov. 2. To register or for more information, call Great Neck House at 516-487-4673.

Fall programs begin at the Rink, tennis center and Great Neck House Monday, Sept. 9. Fall classes start for adults and children at the facilities, including skate school at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink, tennis lessons for all levels at Parkwood Tennis Center and at a variety of classes at Great Neck House. Squirts multi sports: Great Neck Park District and US Sports Institute partner to offer children ages 3 to 7 a chance to learn a variety of sports. The program is held at Memorial Field on Sundays beginning Sunday, Sept. 15. Children can experience lacrosse, soccer, T-ball and track & field in a safe, fun learning environment. Try-Hockey-For-Free Day: Head to the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 10 to 11 a.m. for Try-Hockey-For-Free Day. Pre-registration is required at www.rangers.nhl.com. Call 516-487-4673 for more information.

Doggie Paddle at the Parkwood Family Aquatic Center: Park District residents with a park pass can bring their dog to the Parkwood Family Aquatic Center on Sunday, Sept. 15 between 12 and 3 p.m. for a farewell to summer 2019. All dogs are required to have a Pooch Pass. A Pooch Pass can be obtained at Great Neck House. No guests permitted. Call 516-487-4673 for more information.

Sunday @ 3 Series: Come to Great Neck House on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. to enjoy an afternoon presentation by Ned Dorman on the life and career of George Gershwin. Park pass is required for admission to Great Neck House.
