Annual Beer & Wine Festival in Steppingstone Park

On Sunday, July 28, from 2 to 9 p.m., head to Steppingstone Park for the annual Beer & Wine event. Taste and purchase local craft beers and wines, enjoy food trucks (including Glatt Kosher from Shiraz Restaurant). Enjoy music from The Meade Brothers, Kindred Soul and Terrapin: Grateful Dead Tribute Band. At 7 p.m., That ‘70’s Band will be performing. Free for residents with a park pass; two guests per park pass holder, Additional guests are $10 each. Children under age 13 admitted free.

Steppingstone Waterside Theatre

You won’t want to miss Godfrey Townsend when he performs his “Clapton is GOD-frey” Tribute show in Steppingstone Park on Saturday, July 27 at 8 p.m. Currently the guitarist for the Yardbirds, Townsend has an impressive resume which includes working with legends such as John Entwhistle, Jack Bruce, Dave Mason, Todd Rundgren and so many others. Performance is free for Great Neck Park District residents only, with a valid park pass. Each park pass holder is allowed to bring 2 guests. Special Sunday and Monday family events

On Monday, July 29 at 7 p.m. in the Village Green, Jester Jim will present a children’s show the whole family will enjoy. Sunday, Aug. 4, catch a fish or two at the fishing derby. Fish off the dock at the Steppingstone Marina at 9 a.m. Poles and bait provided (Rain date Aug. 18). On Monday, Aug. 5 bring the family to Steppingstone Park at 7 p.m., when Plaza Productions presents “Cinderella.”

Family Fun Day

Sunday, Aug. 4, Family Fun Day begins at noon at Steppingstone Park. There will be inflatables, games, cotton candy, face painting, live music and more. Event is free for Great Neck Park District residents only, with a valid park pass. Two guests are permitted per pass holder. There is no evening performance at Steppingstone Park. Parkwood Family Aquatic Center

All pool members can go to Parkwood Family Aquatic Center for free water jazzercise, every Sunday, between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.; Bring your own Float Day on Sunday, July 28 and August 11 and 25; two adult night pool parties on Wednesday, July 31 and Aug. 21 from 8 to 10 p.m. and you won’t want to miss the annual Rubber Duckie Races in the lazy river on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Purchase a five-day pass! Rotary Band Concert in the Village Green

Nature Program: Late Summer Seasonal Stroll

On Sunday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. take a late summer seasonal stroll in Kings Point Park. Meet in the first lot at the Steamboat Road entrance. Register online at gnparks.org or call 516-487-GNPD. Children under 16 may not attend.

Outdoor Movie in the Village Green

The animated film, “Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse,” is showing outdoors in the Village Green on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. The film features the voices of Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson and Hailee Steinfeld.
