Steppingstone Waterside Theatre

The Gin Blossoms, who remained on the top hit chart for almost three years with singles “Hey Jealousy,” “Allison Road,” and “Found Out About You,” are performing in Steppingstone Park on Saturday, July 20.

On Thursday, July 25, check out Dance Visions NY, under the direction of Beth Jucovy, as they present “Timeless Dances for a Summers Eve” at Steppingstone. This Dance Vision NY performance, which has been hailed as deeply expressive, include pianists Paul Baserman and Mark Feidler as well as percussionist Napoleon Revels-Bey. Performances begin at 8 p.m. and are free for Great Neck Park District residents, only, with a valid park pass. Each park pass holder is allowed to bring two guests. Special Sunday and Monday family events

Enjoy Sunday Funday in Allenwood Park on Sunday, July 21, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Have fun while playing games, dancing and singing at this interactive children’s event. On Monday, July 22, head to Cuttermill Park at 6 p.m. for a show about animals.

Parkwood Family Aquatic Center

It’s never too late to become a member of the pool. Join in at Parkwood Family Aquatic Center for free Water Jazzercise between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. on Sundays and you won’t want to miss the live music by local band, Dunster Road, on Sunday, July 21 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Become a member at www.gnparks.org or at Great Neck House, 14 Arrandale Avenue.

Rotary Band Concert in the Village Green

Nature Program: Walk Before Work

Sail this summer at Steppingstone Marina

Adult sailing at Steppingstone Marina runs through Aug. 1. In addition to adult sailing programs, family courses, new waterfront activities, kayak/sailboat rentals, there is a summertime sailing program (ages 7 to 17), from July 1 to Aug. 30. For those who love to sail or would like to learn, this full or half-day program will have you “on board” in no time! Register weekly or for the rest of the summer. There are additional activities at Parkwood Sports Complex and optional transportation, daily lunches and field trips. There is also sail school (beginners through expert level, ages 7 to 17) for a more competitive, intensive experience on the water. Shake a leg and all hands on deck! Outdoor Movie in the Village Green: The animated film, “Mary Poppins Returns,” is showing outdoors in the Village Green on Thursday, July 25 at 6 p.m. The film stars Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ben Whishaw.
