Browsing & borrowing by appointment while the Hillside Public Library continues to offer curbside pickup, we are excited to include browsing & borrowing by appointment as the library continues along its reopening plans. patrons will be invited to enter the library to browse the library’s collection and borrow materials. Appointments to enter the building are required. Here’s how the browsing & borrowing By appointment process will work: 1. Please make a reservation using the library’s online program calendar (https://hillsidelibrary.info/events) to secure a browsing appointment. Please choose which department (adult or juvenile) you would like to browse and borrow in. Patrons will be restricted to only entering the department that they register for. Available Timeslots: • Mondays & Wednesdays: 10:30-3:30 p.m. • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 2:30-7:30 p.m.

Virtual better health & wellness series Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. The subject will be integrative health. Reservations are required to receive Zoom links. Please register by contacting Assemblyman Ra’s office at 516-535-4095. **Non-library sponsored event: Please note that this program is not sponsored by the Hillside Public Library. This is a free, online event that library staff thought may be of interest to our patrons.**

Book Discussion: Fresh Fiction Book Club Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. The book being discussed is: “The Plot Against America” by Philip Roth. In an extraordinary feat of narrative invention, Philip Roth imagines an alternate history where Franklin D. Roosevelt loses the 1940 presidential election to heroic aviator and rabid isolationist Charles A. Lindbergh. We will be using the Zoom meeting platform. Meditation, the key to a more balanced life Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. People all over the world are tuning into meditation to help them lead a more peaceful and healthy life-style. Please join Dr. Andrew Vidich, long time meditator, author, educator and international speaker as he discusses meditation as being the key to a more balanced life. *We will be using the Zoom meeting platform..
