Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth announced that the town has released a new documentary about the history of Clark Botanic Garden, the town’s 12-acre garden located in Albertson.
The documentary, produced by North Hempstead TV, covers the unique history of Clark Botanic Garden from its days as the home of the Grenville Clark family and his wife, Fanny Dwight Clark in the 1920s to its acquisition by the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in 1966, to its final stop as one of North Hempstead’s parks in 1989.
“Clark Botanic Garden not only serves as a peaceful and beautiful place to visit, but it also has an important role as a living museum and educational facility,” said Bosworth. “Clark and its staff are dedicated to teaching visitors to understand and appreciate the world’s plant life through horticulture, education and research. This wonderful documentary gives viewers a real appreciation of the garden’s place in local history.”
The film was written and produced by Carole Trottere and directed by Alan Ginsberg, NHTV studio director.
