Join the Humanist Jewish Congregation of Queens/LI for an exciting and different holiday celebration on Monday, April 22, at a Secular Humanistic Passover seder held at La Baraka Restaurant in Little Neck.

Humanistic Jews focus on Jewish culture, history and current events, and observe all major holidays with innovative and inspiring celebrations that stress personal responsibility, compassion and social justice.

The Seder will begin at 5 p.m. and is open to the public. It will feature traditional and contemporary readings and music, led by HJCQ President Nina Gordon, with participation from all in attendance.

La Baraka is an award-winning French-Tunisian restaurant that has been an area favorite for 40 years. The restaurant’s owners, Lucette and Jean-Luc, are Jewish and have been hosting HJCQ’s seders for many years. Participants will have a choice of several delicious main courses, in addition to all the traditional Passover fare (matzo ball soup, gefilte fish, charoses, etc).

For members of HJCQ who wish to attend, price for reservations are $45 per adult and $30 per child under 13. For non-members, price for reservations are $60 per adult and $30 per child under 13. Paid reservations are due by April 15.
