Lecture on ‘The New Anti-Semitism and the BDS Movement’

The Island Now
Dr. Linda Burghardt, Scholar-in-Residence, Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center

The international movement for boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel – known as BDS – has once again raised old questions about the legitimacy of Zionism and even the right of the State of Israel to exist.

Is this a call for social justice, as its Palestinian leaders claim, or a new form of the virulent anti-Semitism that ultimately led to the Holocaust?
Dr. Linda Burghardt will present a lecture about what this movement means, why it matters, and what we can do about it. The presentation is open to the public and will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County, Welwyn Preserve, 100 Crescent Beach Road in Glen Cove.

Seating is limited, so please register by calling the HMTC at 516-571-8040 or visiting online at hmtcli.org.
