Troop 97 Scouts and High School Seniors Ian Bjelke, Aidan Decker, Stefanos Kapetanos, Matthew Moschitta, Damer Raheel and Bharath Venkatesan received their Eagle Rank.
Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America.

According to the Boy Scouts of America, “the Eagle Scout rank has represented a milestone of accomplishment that is recognized across the country and even the world. Eagle Scout is not just an award; it is a state of being.”

An Eagle project requires a Scout to initiate and execute a plan for their community’s benefit. The following projects were completed as part of their requirements; Ian concluded his Eagle Scout project by building and installing catwalks for Pets4Luv rescue Foundation in Westbury.

Aidan accomplished a total restoration of the historical Matinecoc Indian burial ground in the Zion church cemetery of Douglaston. Stefanos’s project took place at the Alley Pond Environmental Center.

There he refurbished a butterfly garden. Matthew renovated a classroom at the Great Neck EOC building in Manhasset for the students at Adventures In Learning.

Damer’s project was at the Garvies Point Museum and Preserve, an outdoor classroom was created with benches and a garden.

Using mulch and wooden borders, Bharath’s Eagle project renovated several trails at the Clark Botanical Garden.
