Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation held their 2018 Gala fundraising dinner on Thursday, Oct. 18 in the Grand Ballroom of the Queens Museum, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.

The gala, in celebration of the Institute’s 111 year anniversary, also honored Carrier Corporation, one of Parker’s long-time strategic partners. Accepting Parker’s Humanitarian Award was John S. Moore, PE, Carrier Sales Manager, New York Metropolitan Area.

Peter Seideman, Parker’s chairman, welcomed the 300 dinner guests. He congratulated Moore for Carrier’s long-time service and support of Parker’s mission.

“Our partnership with Carrier has made it possible to pursue an unwavering commitment to deliver superior patient care in a warm and supportive environment, which has been the Parker mantra since our 1907 founding,” Seideman said. Michael N. Rosenblut, Parker’s president and CEO, thanked Carrier and other Parker supporters. “Carrier has joined with many others whose kindness helps enrich our programs and enhance our facilities,” Rosenblut said, “helping make the Gala a huge success.”

“Built on Willis Carrier’s invention of modern air-conditioning in 1902, Carrier today is a world leader in heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions,” said Moore. In accepting the award, Moore said Carrier is proud of their long relationship as a major technology and systems provider for Parker’s modern facility in New Hyde Park. “We at Carrier are honored to join in Parker’s mission of service and caring for our older adult population,” he added.

“The needs of our senior population – the nation’s largest – makes your support more critical than ever,” Rosenblut said. “They might be at Parker’s facility for sub-acute care, short-term rehabilitation, social adult day care, home health care, hospice, or our on-site dialysis clinic, Queens-Long Island Renal Institute.

Perhaps they’re clients of our medical transport service, Lakeville Ambulette, or AgeWell New York, a managed long-term care plan which we founded. Carrier’s generosity, and the support of many here tonight, helps strengthen our endowment, which will benefit Parker’s patients and residents for decades to come,” he added.
