Preschool Chabad students welcome new classmates

The Island Now

The students at the Florence Brownstein Preschool at the Chabad of Port Washington welcomed 10 yellow fluffy, chirping chicks to their school this week! Farmer Tom of Quiver Farm, Pa., delivered chicken eggs to the school last week.

The students, under the supervision of pre-K teacher, Carrie Steir, were responsible for ensuring their safe incubation by placing the eggs within an incubator and under warm lights for warmth.

A few days later, 10 healthy and adorable chicks hatched, delighting the students and their teachers alike! Farmer Tom will be collecting the babies to return them to his farm later this week.
