Readers Writer: Lady of Fatima Parish thanks Port neighbors

The Island Now

These past few weeks Our Lady of Fatima Parish Outreach has been blessed by an outpouring of love from the Port Washington community. Within moments of a FaceBook post asking for food donations in order to restock our empty shelves, the residents of Port responded. An abundance of food began to flow into the pantry and our shelves are now overflowing.
Port Washington is a very special community whose neighbors genuinely care about one another. Having lived and worked in Port Washington for over 30 years, I can testify that Port is comprised of a very diverse population that is united by goodness. This past week was not an anomaly. Outreach is blessed daily, and throughout the year, with generous donations from so many people. Our clients benefit simply from living within a community of kind and generous people.
Thank you so much for all of the donations and for responding so quickly. We are so fortunate at OLF Outreach to have donors who support our pantry and programs. Port Washington exemplifies what a community can accomplish when they come together for the greater good.
