Santa Claus is coming to town

The Town of North Hempstead has announced that Santa Claus is coming to town. The Town of North Hempstead that is. From Wednesday, Dec. 16 through Sunday, Dec. 20, the Town will be offering opportunities for children and their families to communicate via Zoom with Father Christmas himself.

“We knew it would be challenging for children to meet with Santa in person this year due to the pandemic,” said North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “This program provides a fun and safe way for families to experience the holiday tradition of chatting with Santa from the comfort of their own homes.”

Santa will be offering Zoom calls to youngsters throughout the North Hempstead community. Families can register by visiting: www.northhempsteadny.gov/holidayevents beginning Friday, December 11 at 2 p.m. Spots will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Those who register will be emailed a Zoom link prior the event.

All meetings with Santa will be held in groups of up to 75 children. Zoom calls are open to Town residents only. Residents can make appointments for the following times:

Wednesday, Dec. 16 – 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 18 – 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 19 – 12 p.m., 4 p.m., or 5 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 20 – 2 p.m., 4 p.m., or 5 p.m.
