Sid Jacobson JCC invites the community to join them at the drive-in this August! The JCC will host a series of drive-in events in its parking lot located at 300 Forest Drive, East Hills. The series will include a movie screening of Field of Dreams on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 8 p.m., a concert from The Allmost Brothers Band on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m., and a concert featuring Penny Lane on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. Tickets to the events are on sale at sjjcc.org/drivein. All proceeds benefit SJJCC’s Emergency Fund.

“We are excited to welcome back the Drive-In Series as one of a handful of outdoor programs being offered by the JCC in the month of August,” says David Black, Executive Director, Sid Jacobson JCC. “In response to our sell-out drive-in events in June, our August series promises to bring families and members of all ages the entertainment they are craving this summer. We are continuing to develop innovative programs for our community to experience in socially distant, safe outdoor spaces.”

The Drive-In Series will kick off on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. with a screening of the movie Field of Dreams. This Best Picture nominee brings the joy of family together with the ghosts of baseball’s past for a classic, heartwarming story of a farmer who brings “Shoeless” Joe Jackson and others back to life for the love of the game. The second event, taking place Saturday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m., is a concert from The Allmost Brothers where attendees will experience high-level musicianship and authentic improvisational interplay put forth by this progressive tribute act, honoring the tradition of the legendary Allman Brothers Band.

The final event on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. is a concert from Penny Lane, Long Island’s #1 Beatles tribute band playing favorites from the Fab Four.

Tickets are on sale at sjjcc.org/drivein and can be purchased for $30 per event, $50 to attend two events, or $75 to attend all three events. Pre-registration is required. Each ticket includes registration for one car and snacks. All proceeds will benefit SJJCC’s Emergency Fund.

Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for Sid Jacobson JCC’s Community Needs Bank. Items in high demand include cereal, canned fruit, coffee, tea, and apple sauce.

Sponsors of the Drive-In Series include The Bristal Assisted Living, Joyva Corporation, Randi and Howard Rombom, and 7 Day Home Care.
