The Symphonic Pops Orchestra of Long Island will be performing at Congregation Shaaray Shalom, 711 Dogwood Ave. in West Hempstead on Sunday, June 23 at 2 p.m. Here you can listen to the dynamic sounds of an orchestra made up of 60 musicians who will be playing popular, contemporary music.

Some of the musical selections that will bring back fond memories include music from the Beatles, “The Empire Strikes Back — Star Wars Medley” by composer John Williams, “Take Five” popularized by Dave Brubek, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” a “Guys and Dolls” medley by Frank Loesser, George Gershwin’s “An American In Paris” and Themes from 007.
