Three Roslyn student-athletes take home Buckley awards

The Island Now

Buckley Country Day School recently completed a highly successful fall athletics season, during which six of its eight teams went unbeaten. Those teams included 7/8 Boys Soccer, 5/6 Boys Soccer, 7/8 Tennis, 5/6 Tennis, 7/8 Cross Country, and 5/6 Cross Country. The school recently held its Athletic Awards Ceremony, honoring three students from each of its teams.

“We had an amazing fall season,” said Buckley Athletic Director Isaac Neal. “What I am most proud of is how our students prepared for every class, every practice, and every game. It was a lot of fun. All of our student-athletes and coaches deserve a tremendous amount of credit.”

Among the award winners were three Roslyn residents. They are: Savina Foy, who won Most Valuable Player for 7/8 Girls Volleyball and received the Coach’s Award for 7/8 Girls Soccer; Jessica Hershkowitz, who received the Bulldog Spirit Award for 5/6 Girls Soccer; and Mircea Manu, who was named Most Valuable Player for 5/6 Boys Soccer. Congratulations to all of our award winners!
