Town of North Hempstead honors Joseph Tartaglia for 50 years of service

Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Council Member Angelo Ferrara attended a ceremony recognizing Joseph Tartaglia of the Mineola Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years of service at the Wheatley Hills Country Club on Aug. 17.

Mr. Tartaglia first joined Engine Company 1 of Mineola in August 1969. After transferring to Company 3, he held positions as Lieutenant and Captain. Tartaglia was also named honorary chief in 2017. Town officials presented a proclamation of recognition thanking the ex-chief for his outstanding work and dedication to the community
