Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Council Member Viviana Russell attended the end of the year celebration for the Project Independence programs held on June 21 at the “Yes We Can” Community Center.
Town officials thanked the attendees for their hard work and for their dedication to helping out a local charity.
Participants in the “Color Me Calm” program have been working on a charity project which involved making placemats to be donated to Long Island Cares and collecting non-perishable goods for their food bank. Participants from the Project Independence exercise classes and discussion groups also helped contribute food.
