Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Council Member Veronica Lurvey joined the Sid Jacobson JCC on April 6 at the Sid Jacobson JCC Annex in East Hills as they cut the ribbon on their new facilities and food bank. To commemorate the ribbon cutting ceremony, Bosworth and Lurvey presented a citation of recognition to thank the Sid Jacobson JCC for their dedication to the local community.

The Sid Jacobson JCC’s food bank is funded by the Sheldon A. Sinett Basics Fund and is a collaboration with the JCC’s Center for Community Engagement and the Center for Special Needs. Their goal is to both help collect items and serve as a distribution site for non-perishable food, personal care items for local and small food pantries throughout Nassau County.

Also in attendance was New York state Sen. Anna Kaplan and New York state Assemblyman Charles Lavine.
