Making a Good Impressionism with Art Historian Dr. Michael Norris
Monday, March 25, 6:30 p.m.
How do you paint a passing perception? See how French Impressionist painters, rebelling against an ancient state system of art training, created new image quivering with energy and emotion through art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Princeton University Art Museum and the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers. Craft: DIY Cardmaking with Jaclyn
Wednesday, March 27, 6:30pm
Create and take home two beautiful cards from Jaclyn’s original creations. You will make a birthday/celebrate card and a “thinking of you” card. Register at the reference desk. $4 cash materials fee due at registration.

Concert: Copperline Performs the Music of James Taylor
Thursday, March 28, 7 p.m.
The music of James Taylor has captivated and touched audiences since the late 1960s. Copperline brings to the stage, songs and performances from this great artist, as well as some of his collaborations with artists such as Carole King and Carly Simon. The group will impart Taylor’s history and peek into the background stories of some of his most famous songs. You will be treated to terrific music and a feel for the times in which the songs were composed.

The Carlyle Players Perform “Proof”
Saturday, March 30, 2 p.m.
The Carlyle Players Theater Group returns to the Mineola Library stage for a matinee performance of “Proof,” written by David Auburn. In a play portraying the uncertainties of trust, integrity and genius, a woman claims authorship of a mathematical proof found amount her late father’s papers by one of his former students, who doubts her claim.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Secret Slime Society
Mondays, March 25, April 29 and May 20, 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Grades 1 and up join the S.S.S. Meet new friends who like slime, learn the secret slime hacks, exchange slime recipes and ideas, bring in slime you have made and tell us how you made it, and make a different kind of slime to take home each month. Magical Mini Fairy House
Tuesday, March 26, 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Grades 1 and up will decorate a magical, mini-fairy house that comes with fairy dust and your own fairy to take home with you. Register in the children’s room or call 516-746-8488 ext. 1.

Here Come the Dinosaurs!
Thursday, March 28, 4:15 p.m.
Ages 2 years old to grade 1 (with adult caregiver) will enjoy stories about our favorite prehistoric creatures and a dinosaur egg hunt. Register in the children’s room or call 516-746-8488 ext. 1.

Music for Aardvarks
Friday, March 29, 11 a.m.
Music for Aardvarks is a program for kids 4 months to 4 years old (with adult caregiver) to “rock out” and have some fun stamping, jingle shaking, drum drumming and more. This class combines songs, dance and rhythm in an interactive musical experience for all ages. Register in the children’s room or call 516-746-8488 ext. 1.
