Saturday, April 6, 1:30 p.m. Frida Kahlo’s fierce candor enabled her to place on canvas the inside and outside of herself. She was “the first artist in history to depart from the male principle. This lecture delivered by Louise Cella Caruso is a visual journey tracing Kahlo’s artistic personality — from her art as an ambitious beginner to the excruciating, provocative art at the close of her life at 47 years. Mondays, April 1, 8, 15 and 22, 10:45 a.m. Ages birth and up with adult. Discover the many benefits of signing with your hearing baby. Learn over 80 simple signs (different from Baby Sign Language 101) that will help your child to communicate more clearly. Expectant parents welcome. No experience necessary. Lego Builder Buddies

Tuesdays, April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 4 to 5 p.m. Kindergarten and up. Children play with Legos and build Lego structures with the help of a buddy (teen volunteer). If there is time, they may also play board games together with their buddy. (Legos and games belong to the library and are not to be taken home.)
