Start Your Own Business

7 p.m.
Individuals who are interested in starting a new business will benefit from this workshop. Learn the basics, including legal entity structures, paying taxes, insurance, and marketing. The workshop is led by SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) mentors who are all experts in their specific topics. Please register at the reference desk or call 516-746-8488 ext. 2.

Soundtrack to 1939 with Gemini Journey

As part of Mineola Memorial Library’s 1939 Film Festival, Gemini Journey (Diane Block, violinist and Terry Batts, cellist) will perform songs from 1939 movies such as “The Wizard of Oz” and “Gone With the Wind.”

Secret Slime Society
Mondays, April 29 and May 20
4:30 to 5 p.m.
Grades 1 and up.
Join the S.S.S. Meet new friends who like slime, learn secret slime hacks, exchange slime recipes and ideas, bring in slime you have made and tell us how you made it, and make a different kind of slime to take home each month. Register in the children’s room or call 516-746-8488 ext. 1.

Play, Build, Read (Session #2)
Tuesdays, April 30 and May 21
10:30 a.m.
Children will read some books on building and then have a session of play with blocks. Register in the children’s room or call 516-746-8488 ext. 1.

Lego Builder Buddies
Tuesday, April 30
4 to 5 p.m.
Kindergarten and up
Children play with Legos and build Lego structures with the help of a buddy (teen volunteer). If there is time, they may also play board games together with their buddy (Legos and games belong to the library and are not to be taken home). Potty Time
