Board of Trustees Meeting at Main
The next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Large Multipurpose Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. All are welcome. Check with the Library at (516) 466-8055 to confirm there has been no change in meeting date, time or location.
English Conversation at Station
The Library invites all new speakers of English to join an English Language Conversation Group each Tuesday from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Station Branch, 26 Great Neck Road, above Best Market. These are small, informal groups of people that get together to have conversations in English. Refreshments will be served. No registration required. Mindfulness Meditation facilitated by Carolyn Carpentiere at Main
Carolyn Carpentiere will facilitate Mindfulness Meditation on Tuesday, Jan. 16 from
7:15 to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.
Meditation is a practice that strengthens our focus and attention, as well as
releases stress to stay healthy. Open to all skill levels. Please bring a mat or use our chairs.
Chess at Main
Enjoy a game of chess each Wednesday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. All skill levels are welcome.
Wednesday Matinee Film at Main
The next Wednesday Matinee at Main features a film about the relationship between a Pakistan-born aspiring comedian and a grad student. It will be shown on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.
SAT Prep Course In-Person Registration at Main
The SAT Prep Course is taught by state certified math and verbal skills experts. Students should bring a calculator, pen or pencil, and a notebook to class. There is a $25 fee, which includes the necessary textbook, per student for the course. Advanced registration is required. Juniors and seniors will be given priority. Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 31, Feb. 1, 7, 8, 14, and 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.
In-person registration for juniors and seniors will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Main Library. Arriving early is recommended. Telephone registration for juniors and seniors for any remaining openings begins on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. by calling Main at 466-8055, ext. 218. If space permits, freshman and sophomores may register for the course on a first come, first served basis. They may do this from a walk-in line on the night of the first class, Wednesday, Jan. 31, just before the start of class. A line for walk-ins will form at 6:00 p.m.

Jump In! Water Awareness at Main
Matthew T. Rizzo of Grassroots Environmental Education will present Jump In! Water Awareness on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Learn about the threats facing our ground and surface water and possible solutions.

Great Neck Public Schools Community Education: Arts on Parade
Great Neck Public Schools Community Education: Arts on Parade exhibition celebrates the works of talented instructors from the Great Neck Community Education Program. The exhibit will be on view Jan. 18 to March 12 in the Main Library Gallery, lower level, 159 Bayview Avenue.
Included in the showcases will be pieces from classes such as Jewelry Making, Metal Clay, Fused Glass, Kuhimino Braiding, and Jewelry in Crystal. Also samples from Pottery, Painting on Silk, and Handweaving will be displayed. All of these courses are open for registration. Contact the Community Ed office at (516) 441-4949.
Thursday Film Encore at Station

Homework Helpers at Main
Need help with your homework or a quiet place to get your homework done? Join the library for this drop-in program where kids in grades K to 5 can receive homework help from high school students in a group setting. Stop by the Multipurpose Room on the lower level on each day of the program to check in.
The program will run on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in January and February on Jan. 8, 11, (closed Jan. 15), 18, 22, 25, 29, Feb. 1, 5, 8, 12, and 15. Contact Adam Hinz (516) 466-8055, ext. 246, ahinz@greatnecklibrary.org for more information.
Adult Coloring at Lakeville
Drop by for an hour of relaxing coloring each Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. beginning Jan. 5 at the Lakeville Branch, 475 Great Neck Road. Coloring sheets will also be available to take home.
