National Skate Month Day
The Great Neck Park District, in cooperation with the Great Neck Figure Skating Club, celebrates National Skate Month at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink, Sunday, Jan. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. Participate in free mini-skate lessons with the skate school staff. Meet Parker, the Park District mascot. Residents enjoy free admission with park card. Non-resident fees apply. Skate rental is available at $5 per person. All are welcome to attend.

Parkwood Tennis Center
Register for the new winter session at the Parkwood Tennis Center which runs through May. Children and adults can learn to play or brush up on their tennis skills. Non-resident rates apply. Call (516) 829-9050 for more info.

Skate School and Bruins Fun-damental Hockey Registration
Register for Skate School’s winter session at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink. New students welcome. Bruins Fun-damental Hockey program is now registering children (ages 5-12), which runs through April 13. Reduced rate equipment packages are available. For more information call (516) 487-2976.

Nature Program: Are The Coyotes Coming?
Sunday, January 21, 12:30 p.m., join us for the Wild Dog Foundation’s indoor presentation at Great Neck House about coyotes. Learn about these animals and their canine relatives. Register by January 14 online gnparks.org or call (516) 482-0355. Children under 16 may not attend.

Weekend Movie at Great Neck House
The film 13 Minutes (2015) directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, will be shown at Great Neck House on Friday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at 5 & 8 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p .m. This drama, starring Christian Friedel, Katharina Schüttler and Burghart Klaußner, is based on Hitler’s would-be assassin and how history could have been changed. It is rated R and runs 1h 54min. Admission with park card.

Birthday Parties in the Park District
Book your child’s next celebration with the Park District. Choose a skating party at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink (516- 829-4323), or a unique-themed party package at Steppingstone Park (516- 482-0355). Defensive Driving Classes at Great Neck House
Great Neck House continues to offer Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving classes on the first Saturday of every month. The next class will be held Saturday, Feb. 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. To register or for more information, call Great Neck House at 482-0355.
