Where is the World Going Today? Part III

Philip A Raices

Unfortunately, more and more families and people are leaving Nassau, Suffolk and Queens, due to the high cost of living and just being able to survive!

Three out of five or maybe more, married women are working to pay their mortgages, bills, etc.

Is this quality of life, I ask?

Not really! Many are moving down south and west, where the cost of a mortgage is approximately 29 percent of one’s income, instead of the almost 67 percent of income needed here to pay for the mortgage and other required expenses, for a basic home.

Why is this? My sisters live in Atlanta and their real estate taxes range from $5500 to $6,800!

Are the unions to blame, teachers escalating pensions that are mandated from Albany down to all the counties?

We obviously will always need excellent and superior teachers for our children to learn, so they will be able to flourish as adults; if you went into teaching, did you do it to become richer than most or was it the ideals of teaching and educating?

It was a choice that you made, but who knew that pensions would be costing us approximately 60-65 percent of our real estate taxes?

Moreover, is the educational system adapting properly to teach, educate and prepare our children properly in order to survive financially?

I am not convinced that it’s succeeding in the correct fashion. I have interviewed so many people, and they can barely, add, subtract, divide or multiply without or even with a device.

Their English and sentence structure is so poor, it’s amazing they can communicate properly with the consuming public, who also need guidance; it’s like the blind, leading the blind!

Our overall health in the U.S. is about as low as it has ever been in our history; although we are living longer, with more Centurions (100+ years old) than ever before.

But do they have quality of life or is it just quantity of surviving longer through advanced technologies, drugs, etc. barely keeping us alive?

The financial strain our health care systems is monumental and will be a downward spiraling failure, if our political leaders don’t stop the ridiculous and waste of time, arguing and disagreeing and begin to do the right thing and sit down and put their heads together, talk, create new options and stop the G_D damn partisan politics and do what’s good for the whole entire country and not just in their own backyards, we will be surely doomed in the future!

Most critical and important, is the total U.S. domestic and foreign debt, they say is 19 trillion, but I would beg to differ that it’s many more multiples of that, if you do your research! How are we going to pay for it? China controls their currency, we don’t right?

So, if they floated their currency, it just might be the most expensive denomination on the globe, thereby making our exported goods less costly for Chinese consumers to purchase, (with much better quality than their own) and some other countries to import; thereby reducing and potentially eliminating our debts and putting us in a surplus; like there was when President Bill Clinton was in office and provided, I believe, 500 million extra dollars into the national treasury for President Bush, who spent it all on another one of our idiotic and wasteful wars!

Unemployment, although less than 4 percent, is not accurate whatsoever, if you factor in the information about those who drop out and no longer are looking for work, the number is considerably higher, but we feel good when we see a low number; it puts a positive spin on our economy and our mindset, so maybe, feeling good makes us work smarter and harder?

Not sure about that, since our middle class is disappearing and we eventually will be divided into the haves and have-nots!

My belief, is that the entire political systems throughout the world have to really get their heads together and somehow and someway, take this sinister and world killing greed out of the equation, so we can all try to live and survive in the most beneficial and peaceful way, allowing all to believe in whatever they want, without killing or making someone believe in something that they choose not to; having the respect for all religions and their belief doctrines, without the killing!

Many need it to keep our chaos at a minimum and without it, it just might be like the “walking dead” or an apocalypse of enormous proportions that would do us all in even sooner than later! Living in peace and harmony is an idealistic concept for most; but it could and can be accomplished, if the respect and consideration of all people would be practiced on a daily basis.

But that just maybe asking for too much, because the human race has never adapted very well conceptually to those ideals. We are the only species that kills, not for personal survival, but for religious, political and financial reasons.

The animal and insect kingdoms, kill for survival only and will be here, whatever is left of them, after we kill them, pollute the oceans, reduce their livable habitat for human consumption and use, long after we are all gone and maybe, just maybe, the world of the future, will be a much more peaceful environment for them to survive and live in.

Also, maybe Alon Musk, with his Space X company is thinking ahead, figuring the earth is on a path to destruction with no return and Mars, just might be our next real estate takeover and compound to call home for future generations, maybe our new Earth No. 2? Only time will tell.
