Americana Manhasset is hosting its 22nd annual Champions for Charity shopping event from Nov. 29 through Dec. 2 in which purchases at the shopping complex made over the course of four days can benefit more than 130 organizations.

Shoppers can register for a “Champion Number” and select organizations that they want their purchases to benefit, and Americana Manhasset will donate 25 percent of the proceeds from full-price purchases to those organizations.

Since 1996, Champions for Charity has raised more than $12 million, according to Americana Manhasset.

“Champions for Charity has become the unofficial kick-off for the holiday season for so many charities,” said Christina Merrill, founder of the Bone Marrow Foundation. “My charity of choice and so many other organizations have benefited tremendously from participating in this event.”

Stores will also host events in partnership with participating organizations.

Sid Jacobson JCC, based in East Hills, has a lineup of events at Bandier on Nov. 29, including a morning workout with celebrity trainer Amanda Kloots and an evening reception with a DJ and tequila bar.

Sunrise Association is hosting a shopping event at Rag & Bone that evening.

The Long Island-based organization has summer camps for child cancer patients and their siblings, as well as similar programs for children currently in hospitals.

This year, it is creating a campaign to promote its shopping event on social media. Jonah Elkowitz, 15, photographed students from local schools at Rag & Bone for the promotion.

“We are so proud to be a beneficiary of this prestigious event,” said Aurily Sandler, a co-chair of Sunrise Association’s shopping event. “It gives us the opportunity to educate the community about the mission of Sunrise Day Camp.”
