Meltzer Lippe opens Boca Raton, Fla. office

The Island Now

Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP, headquartered in Mineola, NY, is pleased to announce the opening of an office in Boca Raton, Fla.

The Boca office, which is located in the Crystal Corporate Center at 2500 North Military Trail, will support the practices of two trusts and estates attorneys and one paralegal. Meltzer Lippe Managing Partner David Heymann made the announcement.

“Our expansion into the South Florida market was carefully considered and is a continuation of our coordinated expansion which began in early 2020 with the addition of our 460 Park Avenue office in New York City and the addition of new practice groups and attorneys in our Long Island office.

The addition of our Boca office (which will also have a satellite office in Miami) leverages off of our commitment to our clients and nationally recognized standing as a preeminent firm in the Private Wealth and Trusts & Estates practice areas,” said Heymann. “Many of our clients have significant business interests in Florida, and many more have residences in the state. While the Florida office will be staffed initially with Trusts and Estates professionals, we anticipate the office growing to include other practice areas.”

Joining Meltzer Lippe’s Boca Raton office will be three experienced legal professionals. Seth Kaplan JD, LL.M, who will be managing partner of the office, joins Meltzer Lippe from Gunster, one of Florida’s largest law firms, where he was a shareholder in its Private Wealth Group.

Kaplan is a frequent lecturer and author on topics that include personal tax planning, planning for Generation X, startups, planned giving, post-mortem planning and cross border international planning. He was a speaker and panelist at the NYU 75th Institute on Federal Taxation and ABA Tax Section. Jennifer Einersen, who joins Meltzer Lippe from the Miami law firm Bilzin Sumberg, represents high-net-worth individuals and counsels individuals and families with respect to wealth transfer planning, including charitable giving and estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning.

Patty Gonzalez, an experienced Trusts and Estates paralegal, joins Meltzer Lippe from Proskauer.
